Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Committee Asep Guntur Rahayu said that Nadiem’s status would be the same as the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebook laptops which was being handled by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung).

“The same one is NM (Nadiem Makarim), then his special staff–what’s his name–JT (Jurist Tan). And these are different, but overall they are the same,” said Asep at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday (11/20) evening.
Asep explained that the Google Cloud case had moved to the investigation stage by the KPK.However, his party will hand over this case to the Attorney General’s Office which is also handling the Chromebook case.
“Of course what was submitted was the information we had, then the documents we had, which were obtained during the investigation,” he said.
Asep reminded that the procurement of Google Cloud and Chromebooks both occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic.Therefore, these cases intersect with each other.

Corruption Eradication Committee Chairman Setyo Budiyanto said his party would hand over the investigation into the alleged Google Cloud corruption case to the Attorney General’s Office.This is because the case involving Nadiem has a connection with the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebooks which is being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office.
“For Google Cloud, the handling will be handed over to the Attorney General’s Office,” said Setyo on Tuesday (18/11).
Setyo said the potential suspects in the Google Cloud corruption case were the same as the Chromebook case being investigated by the AGO.He said that the KPK had also coordinated with the Attorney General’s Office to hand over the case.
“That’s why it has been coordinated and later the projections will be submitted. This is a form of coordination, a form of cooperation between parties,” explained Setyo.
Nadiem was previously questioned for nine hours by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on August 7, in the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of Google Cloud by KPK investigators which went smoothly.
Apart from Nadiem, the party who has been questioned by the anti-corruption agency regarding the Google Cloud case is former Special Staff to the Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, Fiona Handayan on July 30 2025.
Then former GoTo Commissioner Andre Soelistyo and former GoTo Director Melissa Siska Juminto on August 5 2025.
