Corruption Eradication Commission
(KPK) clarifies the confusing issue in society that the around IDR 300 billion displayed at the press conference on Thursday (20/11) was a bank loan.
Corruption Eradication Committee spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the money on display was part of the stolen assets entrusted to the bank in the form of a holding account. He emphasized that the money was not the result of borrowing from a bank.

“In technical terms of storage, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) deposits confiscated and confiscated goods in the form of money with the bank in a holding account,” said Budi in a written statement, Friday (21/11).
Apart from that, said Budi, the Corruption Eradication Commission never kept the confiscated money in its office or in the state confiscated objects storage house (Rupbasan).
Budi said that the physical money on display was part of the looted money which was deposited in a bank account.
“So the Corruption Eradication Commission entrusted it to the bank, there is something called an escrow account. So don’t be mistaken, because there are those who still say the Corruption Eradication Commission borrowed bank money,” he said.
Previously, KPK Execution Prosecutor Leo Sukoto said that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) had transferred all the money from the loot to PT Taspen. He then said that the Corruption Eradication Commission borrowed IDR 300 billion from the bank to show off at the press conference.
“The Corruption Eradication Commission has transferred Rp. 880 billion to PT Taspen, but this morning we were still able to communicate with BNI in Mega Kuningan, asking for a loan of Rp. 300 billion, so we borrowed this money from BNI Mega Kuningan,” said prosecutor Leo.
Leo even said that the money on display was delivered under strict guard during the trip to the KPK.He also said the money would be returned in the afternoon.
“Maybe at 16.00 in the afternoon we will return this money again. We will also be assisted by police security,” said prosecutor Leo.
In a press conference at the KPK’s Red and White building, Thursday (20/11), the KPK showed off IDR 300 billion of the total IDR 883 billion.
The confiscated assets handed over were Insight Tunas Bangsa Balanced Fund 2 (I-Next G2) Mutual Fund Participation Units, an investment instrument in the form of ownership of mutual fund units which was previously purchased using funds involved in a corruption case and then confiscated by the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) as state confiscation.
The stolen assets were taken in connection with the criminal act of PT Taspen’s fictitious investment case which caused state financial losses of up to IDR 1 trillion.
