The Judicial Commission (KY) has urged the police to thoroughly investigate the cause of the fire at the house belonging to a District Court judge

, North Sumatra, Khamozaro Waruwu, located in the Taman Harapan Indah complex, Tanjungsari, Medan Selayang, Medan, on November 4 2025.
“KY firmly requests that the police immediately thoroughly investigate the cause of the fire at judge Khamozaro Waruwu’s house,” said KY spokesperson Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Saturday (8/11).
On the other hand, KY will also not speculate whether the fire at Judge Khamozaro Waruwu’s house was related to the trial of alleged corruption in a road construction project in North Sumatra or not.

He said that currently KY is focused on investigating the cause of the fire, so it has formed a team to search for more complete information, take anticipatory steps regarding the judge’s security, and coordinate with the Medan Police to ensure a complete and transparent investigation.
Then, Mukti added that the KY leadership had also provided a number of recommendations in the context of institutional coordination with the leadership of the Supreme Court on November 5 2025.
During the meeting, there were three recommendations proposed by KY, namely monitoring closed trials, proposed welfare policies for Indonesian judges, and proposed security policies for judges and courts.
He believes that the three recommendations are considered important for strengthening the system of supervision, protection and increasing professionalism in the judicial environment.
Previously, the house belonging to Judge Khamozaro Waruwu, who was handling a case of alleged corruption in a road project in North Sumatra, burned down on November 4 2025 at around 10.40 WIB.The incident occurred when Khamozaro was presiding over a trial at the Medan District Court.
Through a telephone call from a neighbor, Khamozaro learned that his house was on fire.However, at that time he did not have time to answer the telephone because he was presiding over the trial.
On November 6 2025, the Central Executive of the Indonesian Judges Association (PP Ikahi) revealed that Khamozaro had received terror via telephone before his house burned down.
