Laos National Team
became the first team to be eliminated from the men’s soccer sport at the 2025 SEA Games after losing to Malaysia.
Laos lost to Malaysia 1-4 in the 2025 SEA Games Group B match. That was Laos’ second match in Group B, while for Malaysia it was the second match.
Losing this match meant that Laos failed to qualify for the semifinals or be eliminated from the 2025 SEA Games.

Laos is certain to lose out to Vietnam and Malaysia in the race for tickets to the 2025 SEA Games semifinals after suffering two defeats.

In the first match, Laos was silenced by Vietnam.It was Malaysia’s turn to beat Laos in the second match.
By having three groups, only the group winner and one best runner up can qualify for the 2025 SEA Games semifinals.
Malaysia’s victory over Laos made the competition in Group B even fiercer.Both Vietnam and Malaysia scored three points.
To determine the group winner, Malaysia and Vietnam will clash on December 11.Currently, Malaysia is at the top of Group B after being superior on goal difference over Vietnam.
