Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender
canceled in cinemas.The film from the hit animated series will eventually go straight to streaming services when it is released in 2026.
This decision was announced by Jane Wiseman as Head of Original Content at Paramount+.According to him, this step was taken to strengthen their platform’s position as the home for the animated Avatar: The Last Airbender.

“The Avatar universe has captivated audiences for two decades, and Paramount+ is proud to be the exclusive streaming home for its beloved animated incarnations,” said Jane Wiseman as reported

“This addition strengthens Paramount+’s position as the premier destination for the Avatar animated universe,” he emphasized.
The withdrawal of Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender from theaters means Paramount+ now has a slimmer list of big screen film releases for next year.

The Primate film is scheduled for release in January, followed by Scream 7 in February, Scary Movie 6 in June, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie in August, Street Fighter in October, and The Angry Birds Movie 3 in December 2026.
Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender was produced by Avatar Studios, under Nickelodeon which is dedicated to developing the Avatar universe.The film was directed by Lauren Montgomery and William Mata.
The film focuses on the new adventures of Aang and his friends several years after the events at the end of the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender.Now, Aang and his friends Sokka, Katara, Toph, and Zuko are adults.
The project retains its signature animated format to provide the visual and emotional depth that fans have come to know since its debut two decades ago.
Apart from this film, the production house is also preparing a new animated series entitled Avatar: Seven Havens which will be released on the same platform.
Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender is scheduled to air October 9, 2026 on streaming services.
