Spokesperson for the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, KH Oing Abdul Muid Shohib or Gus Muid, through a message he received from one of the Lirboyo caretakers, KH Athoillah Anwar, stated that the two conditions are, firstly, that the meeting must be attended by PBNU officials who are in conflict.
“Lirboyo is willing to be the host. If the meeting is attended by both parties,” said Gus Muid when confirmed

Gus Muid was reluctant to say who the two parties he was referring to were.According to him, the public now knows who the internal conflict between PBNU is.
“Yes, who is it now [in conflict],” he said.
Furthermore, the second requirement is that the meeting must also invite older kiai, who are members of the PBNU Syuriyah ranks, including Islamic boarding school caretakers.
“Yes, of course, perhaps what Gus Atho means is Syuriyah or the older kiai who are administrators of the Islamic boarding school. After all, the owner in quotation marks is NU, Ashabul Ma’had, the Islamic boarding school administrator,” he said.
Gus Muid said that the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School has now decided that it is willing to be the location for the meeting.Because their two main caregivers have given the green light and blessing.
“With the knowledge and blessing of the caretakers, namely KH Anwar Manshur and KH Kafabihi Mahrus, Lirboyo is willing to be the host. Yes, this is based on concern for the current condition of NU,” he said.
However, regarding when the meeting will be held, Gus Muid admitted that he did not know yet.This will still await the willingness of all parties related to this conflict.

General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, Yahya Cholil Staquf, said that the ulama were scheduled to meet at the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, Kediri, East Java, to discuss the ongoing polemic within the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia.
“God willing, a wider meeting will be held later, featuring senior (more senior) kiai and leadership elements within NU, where the host will be the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School in Kediri,” he said at the PBNU Head Office, Central Jakarta, Sunday (23/11) evening.
Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya is currently facing the issue of an attempt to impeach himself from the position of General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board.This issue was revealed through the PBNU Syuriyah Daily Meeting Minutes document as of November 20 2025.
Based on the document, the Syuriyah Daily Meeting was said to have been attended by 37 people out of a total of 53 PBNU Daily Syuriyah Management.The minutes document itself was signed by Rais Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Akhyar.However, the validity of the document has not been confirmed.
Responding to this, Gus Yahya admitted that he would not resign from the position of Chairman of the PBNU, even though he was pressured to resign by the PBNU Syuriah ranks.Gus Yahya said this after attending the Coordination Meeting of PWNU Chairs throughout Indonesia at the Navator Hotel Surabaya, East Java, Saturday (22/11) evening until Sunday (23/11) early morning.
“I never thought about resigning,” said Gus Yahya after the meeting.
According to him, he is the legitimate General Chair of PBNU and received the majority of votes from NU administrators at the 34th NU Congress in Bandar Lampung 2021.Because of this, he is determined to complete his five-year term until 2026.
“Because I received a mandate from this Congress for five years. Yes, at the 34th Congress I received a mandate for five years. Because I will serve it for 5 years. God willing, I can do it,” he said.
