Polda Metro Jaya named eight suspects in the alleged fake diploma case of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (
Jokowi
).
The eight suspects were divided into two different clusters based on the actions or crimes committed by each suspect.
“Polda Metro Jaya has named eight suspects in the case of defamation, slander and manipulation of electronic data reported by Mr Joko Widodo,” said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri in a press conference, Friday (7/11).

The first cluster consists of five suspects.They are Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Damai Hari Lubis, Rustam Effendi and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah.
The suspects in this first cluster were charged with Article 310 and/or Article 311 and/or Article 160 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 27A in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 4 and/or Article 28 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45A Paragraph 2 of the ITE Law.
Then the second cluster consisted of three suspects.The three are Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar and Tifauziah Tyassuma alias Dr Tifa.
The suspects in this second cluster are charged with Article 310 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 311 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 32 Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 48 Paragraph 1 and/or Article 35 in conjunction with Article 51 Paragraph 1 and/or Article 27A in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 4 and/or Article 28 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45A Paragraph 2 of the ITE Law.
After determining this suspect, investigators from the Sub-Directorate for Criminal and Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya will immediately summon Roy Suryo CS to be questioned as a suspect.
Later, the detention of these suspects will be decided after they are questioned in their capacity as suspects.
“Regarding the authority granted by the law to investigators relating to detention, of course there are several considerations that will be taken into consideration by investigators later when carrying out examinations of suspects,” said Asep.
