“Thank God, I am grateful to be able to appear on the first day of the World Tour Finals. Overall I am quite happy because I was able to play until the rubber game against An Se Young. Previously in Australia I lost in straight games, but this time I was able to play three games and put out my best game,” said Putri, quoted from the official PBSI release.
The badminton player who graduated from PB Exist still has a chance of qualifying for the semifinals of the 2025 BWF World Tour Finals as long as he can beat Akane Yamaguchi and Tomoka Miyazaki in the next two matches.
On Thursday (18/12) Putri will face Akane, who today beat Tomoka 21-14 and 21-17.
Putri welcomed the match against Akane with enthusiasm.Concentration and calm on the field are factors that Putri will pay attention to when facing this Japanese opponent.
“For tomorrow’s match against Akane Yamaguchi, I want to keep my mind more alert. I also have to be ready to be tired because Akane Yamaguchi is a very strong player and is not easily turned off. So like it or not, I have to be ready to follow her playing pattern first,” said Putri.
Currently Putri is in third place in Group A of the BWF World Tour Finals women’s singles, behind Akane and An Se Young.
