Luke Xavier Keet
came all the way from Greece to attend a training camp (TC) in order to defend
U-23 Indonesian National Team
.
Luke is actually not on the call-up list for the U-23 Indonesian National Team for the training camp ahead of the 2025 SEA Games. However, the 22-year-old player wants to prove himself worthy of defending the Garuda squad in the future.
“I am honored to be given this opportunity. Being part of this team is a privilege. I want to do my best for this team,” said Luke at the Indonesian U-23 National Team training session at the Madya Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/11).

During the training session, Luke immediately mingled with the Garuda Muda squad.Having been given a separate program at the start, players from the Greek second caste club, GS Illioupolis, were given the opportunity to join in the mini games.
Luke’s struggle is not only about technique or collaboration on the field, but also outside of technical matters.
“It’s a little difficult because it’s very humid and hot. But I need time, the staff helps me to adapt,” explained Luke when asked about adapting to the weather in Indonesia which is different compared to Greece.
Luke was born and received his education in Indonesia. After the age of 9, Luke then went to Europe and this time he returned to his homeland.
“I was born here and went to school here. My mother is from Indonesia. But when I was 9 years old I went to Europe and haven’t returned since then. I want to go back to learning Indonesian. Hopefully I can speak Indonesian again soon,” he explained.
Luke received help in learning Indonesian from several players in the U-23 Indonesian National Team. The ‘non-technical training sessions’ were held outside the field.
“Brandon [Scheunemann] helped me a lot. Then there were several naturalized players who helped me with several things at dinner,” said Luke when asked about the players who helped him learn Indonesian.
Based on monitoring by hitclubapk3Indonesia.com, Luke has good playing technique and speed.Originally positioned as a left winger, this ability can support him in combing the edge of the field to build attacks.
“Whatever it is, I want to help the team. I believe in the coaching staff and the players here. They have great potential. Indonesian people have the right to see [the Indonesian National Team] win. If I can help, I want to help. Indonesia is number one, there is no other,” said Luke.
