admits he is open to returning to play his iconic character in Home Alone, Kevin McCallister.In fact, he admitted that he already had a story idea for a sequel to this character.
“I wouldn’t be completely allergic to it [playing Kevin],” Culkin said during one of the recent A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin tour sessions.”[But] it has to be precise.”

“I kind of had an idea. I [as Kevin] am either a widower or divorced. I’m raising a child and that’s it,” he continued.
“I was working really hard and not paying enough attention, and the kid started getting annoyed with me and then I got locked out,” Culkin said.”[He] wouldn’t let me in… and he was the one who set the trap for me.”
Culkin’s idea replaced the role of the robbers in the previous Home Alone films and made Kevin himself have to struggle with his son in order to get back into the house during the holidays.

on Tuesday (25/11).Culkin added that the conflict had deep meaning.
“The house was a kind of metaphor for our relationship. The characters had to be allowed into the son’s heart,” Culkin said.“That’s the closest thing to an elevator pitch I’ve got.”
However, the director of Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), Chris Columbus, has a different view regarding the continuation of this franchise.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight in August 20256, Columbus argued that a new film of the saga should not be made.
“I think Home Alone is not just a marker of time, but a very special moment, and you can’t really repeat that,” said Columbus.
“I think it’s a mistake to try to go back and recapture something we made 35 years ago. I think let’s leave it alone,” he added.
After Home Alone 2, this franchise continued with Home Alone 3 in 1997, then remade in 2021 entitled Home Sweet Home Alone.However, the continuation of the franchise did not satisfy critics.
