Emmanuel Macron
warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that any plans and attempts by Israel to annex the Palestinian West Bank would trigger a reaction from Europe.
The statement was made when the Palestinian President, Mahmud Abbas, visited Paris on Tuesday (11/11), one month after the fragile ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.

Macron even considers that every Israeli attempt to annex the West Bank is an out-of-bounds action that will trigger real consequences.He warned that Israel should not continue with its annexation plans in the West Bank, following increasing violence in the region.
“The annexation plan, whether in part or in full legally or

“This is a red line that we will address firmly together with our European partners,” Macron said at a press conference with Abbas.
“Settler violence and accelerated settlement building have reached unprecedented levels, threatening the stability of the West Bank and constitute a violation of international law,” Macron was quoted as saying

Macron’s ultimatum comes more than a month after France recognized Palestine as a country, following several other European countries last September.
During Israel’s brutal aggression in the Palestinian Gaza Strip since October 2023 and killing more than 60 thousand residents, Tel Aviv also carried out a series of attacks in the West Bank.
Israeli officials and ministers even continue to promote plans to expand settlements in the West Bank despite international criticism.
After a meeting discussing further steps after the ceasefire in Gaza, Macron and Abbas announced the formation of a joint committee “to strengthen the Palestinian state.”
“The committee will contribute to the drafting of the new constitution, and President Abbas has submitted an initial draft to me,” Macron said.
Abbas reiterated his commitment to “reforms,” including “holding presidential and parliamentary elections after the end of the war.”
“We have almost completed the draft of an interim constitution for the state of Palestine as well as laws on elections and political parties,” he added.
