Former PM Mahathir Polices Anwar Ibrahim Following US Trade Deal
Former Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Mahathir Mohamad reported PM Anwar Ibrahim to the police regarding the neighboring country’s trade agreement with the United States (US).
Sinar Harian reported that Mahathir sued Anwar because he considered that Anwar’s decision to agree to the Reciprocal Trade Agreement (ART) did not represent the entire Malaysian Federation.
“The agreement is actually invalid because he (Anwar) is not the only party representing the Federation,” said Mahathir at the Putrajaya District Police Headquarters, as quoted by Sinar Harian, Tuesday (2/12).
According to Mahathir, Anwar should have asked for approval from four main entities, namely the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Dewan Rakyat, the Ruling Council and the executive.Because there was no agreement from all parties, he said the trade agreement was unconstitutional.
These 2 NATO Countries Send 13 Warships to Hunt Russian Intel Submarines
The two member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will form a joint naval fleet specifically designed to hunt down submarines suspected of being Russian spies in the North Atlantic.
The joint force plan is contained in a defense pact called the Lunna House Agreement which was signed today, Thursday (4/12) between the two countries. One of the aims of this pact is to reduce security threats from Russia in North Atlantic waters.
The two NATO countries that want to build this joint navy are England and Norway.
“With the large number of Russian vessels detected in our waters, we must work together with international partners to protect our national security,” said British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in an official British government release.
NATO Answers Putin’s War Threat: We Are Ready!
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) responded to President Vladimir Putin’s statement stating that Russia was “ready to go to war” with Europe.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s spokesman said Putin’s comments were “Kremlin nonsense”.Meanwhile NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte insisted the alliance was willing to do whatever it takes “to protect our one billion people and secure our region”.
“NATO is a defense alliance. But make no mistake, we are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to protect our population. Putin believes he can outlast us, but we are not going anywhere,” Rutte said.
