Mahfud explained that there are still many people who misunderstand the function of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission, so that various reports of criminal cases such as murder, corruption and abuse are often submitted to the KPRP.

“So if the nature of the case is murder, corruption, abuse, there are many. People don’t understand that the Reform Commission is solving cases,” he said at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Makassar, South Sulawesi, Tuesday (16/12).
In fact, said Mahfud, the KPRP team once received a letter from a housewife who complained about her husband’s alleged affair with a policewoman.
“There was a woman who sent a letter that her husband was having an affair with a policewoman. Then there was a policeman, for example, if his wife was caught with an ASN at a hotel, she reported it to us, that’s not our job. Is that a matter of reform?”he said.
Mahfud explained that KPRP is not a law enforcement agency or an institution that has the authority to resolve criminal cases or individual ethical violations.
“KPRP is not an institution that has the authority to assess legal actions or resolve cases. We are a team to prepare a new policy framework regarding the National Police,” said Mahfud.
