“This is our victory in two straight games. We have to get back to normal. We still have one more tournament this year,” said Aaron.
Aaron does not deny that Sabar/Reza is not an easy opponent to face. The first seed in the 2025 SEA Games men’s doubles said he would learn from the defeat against Sabar/Reza.
“I think their performance over the last few months has been very consistent. They are not easy opponents and we need to learn from this defeat,” he said.
With Aaron/Soh winning silver, it means that the Malaysian badminton team only won 1 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals at the 2025 SEA Games. This does not meet the target of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) which is aiming to win 4 gold medals.
Meanwhile, the only gold medal won by Malaysia came in the women’s doubles event. This was after Pearly Tan/M Thinaah defeated the Indonesian representatives, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari in a tough duel with a score of 21-16, 19-21, 21-17.
