“As mayor, I will arrest Netanyahu if he comes to New York City. This is a city whose values are in line with international law,” Mamdani said at the end of June, quoted

He then said, “It is time for our actions to be in line with this.”
This arrest is in line with orders from the International Criminal Court (ICC) which issued a warrant for Netanyahu’s arrest regarding Israel’s brutal aggression in the Gaza Strip in November last year.
According to the ICC, Netanyahu and then-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant were accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
Last October, Mamdani reiterated his readiness to arrest Netanyahu if he set foot in New York City.
“I have said many times, this is a city that believes in international law. This is a city that should be reflected in our commitment,” said Mamdani, quoted

in early November.
“And I think our city should uphold the order issued by the International Criminal Court.”

, Mamdani even said that if elected mayor he would instruct the police to arrest Netanyahu at the airport.
“This is an action I really want to take. I want to make sure this city upholds international law,” he said, quoted by The Guardian last September.
Mamdani is one of the US politicians who strongly condemns Israel’s aggression in Gaza.He even called Netanyahu committing genocide before the United Nations (UN) committee announced that Zionist forces had indeed committed it.
“I will always be clear in my language and based on facts: Israel is committing genocide,” he said.
Mamdani is also a supporter of the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement for products affiliated with Israel.He believes that political values are non-violence.
Mamdani won the general election for mayor of New York on Tuesday (4/11).He defeated independent rivals and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
