The mass at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia on Sunday (14/12) was identified as Ahmed al Ahmed.He is now hailed as a hero because his actions are said to have saved many lives.
Ahmed, 43, is a fruit shop owner.He went viral because of the video of him attacking a man dressed in black holding a weapon in the parking area.

In the video, Ahmed can be seen grabbing the gunman from behind, grabbing the rifle from him, then pointing the rifle back at the man.
The shooter was seen retreating towards the bridge, where another shooter was located.Ahmed then put the rifle he had seized on the ground.
Chris Minns, premier of New South Wales state, praised Ahmed as a “true hero” and said the video was “the most extraordinary scene I have ever seen”.
“There are so many people who survived tonight because of their bravery,” Minns reportedly said

The shooting incident at Bondi Beach killed 12 people, including one shooter.Police said the other shooter was in critical condition.
This shooting occurred during an event marking the Jewish holiday, Hanukkah.

explained local media Seven News which identified Ahmed and said he was hospitalized after suffering two gunshot wounds.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised the actions of Australians who had “run into danger to help others”.
“These Australians are heroes and their bravery has saved lives,” he told a news conference.
Ahmed’s actions also received praise on the internet.A number of netizens expressed their appreciation for what he had done.
“Most people run from danger but this man, who was present at the recent Bondi Beach massacre, was not one of those people,” said someone on the X platform.
“This Australian man saved many lives by snatching a gun from one of the terrorists on Bondi beach. A HERO,” said another.
