The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), congratulates Muslim candidates on their victories in city and state elections in
United States
.
“CAIR, the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, and CAIR Action, its advocacy affiliate, today released the latest tally results from the November 4 election showing record Muslim turnout,” CAIR said in a statement
on the official website
, Thursday (6/11),
“There are 38 confirmed wins nationally from 76 Muslim candidates listed on ballots across the country. CAIR and CAIR Action note that this is only a preliminary list and believe there are other Muslim candidates who ran and were elected,” the mass organization continued.

CAIR said the 2025 election recorded new historical milestones, including Zohran Mamdani in the election for mayor of New York, the first Muslim to win the election.
The organization also highlighted the victory of a US Muslim woman, Ghazala Hashmi, as deputy governor of Virginia, which was also the first for a Muslim candidate in that state.
“These victories are not just a victory for American Muslims, but a victory for all Americans who believe in justice, equality, and democratic participation,” wrote CAIR on their official website.
“Every Muslim who ran for office this year demonstrated extraordinary courage and integrity, and many won despite facing a wave of anti-Muslim hate and organized disinformation. Those who won now take the trust of their entire community, whatever their faith, to serve with commitment for the common good.”
Based on the latest data as of Saturday (8/11), Adam Alharbi succeeded in winning the election for mayor of Hamtramck, Michigan.He defeated another Muslim candidate, Muhith Mahmood, quoted from

Thus, a total of 39 Muslims won elections at the US city to state level.
