Türkiye’s Maritime Affairs Directorate said the Midvolga 2 carrying sunflower oil came under attack on Tuesday morning.
“[The ship] was attacked 80 miles from our coast while sailing from Russia to Georgia carrying sunflower oil,” the directorate said in a statement, quoted

The ship also carried 13 crew members and all of them were safe without anyone being injured.
Even though it was attacked, the tanker did not ask for help after being attacked.The ship is also heading to the port of Sinop, on the Turkish Black Sea.
This is the fourth tanker attack this week.On Friday, two tankers experienced similar incidents off the coast of Türkiye.
The Virat and Kairos ships reported explosions that day but there were no injuries.
The Kairos ship was hit at around 15.00 local time on its way to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.The rescue team evacuated its 25 crew members after the fire broke out.
At that time, it was located about 100 km east of the entry point of the Bosphorus Strait to the Black Sea.
On the same day, Virat was also attacked.At that time, the ship was about 400 kilometers further east.Then the next day, this ship again reported an explosion.
One Ukrainian security source said the country’s forces deployed drones to attack the two ships that were “secretly transporting Russian oil.”
Responding to the attack, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the drone attack showed a serious escalation.
“We cannot accept this attack, which poses a threat to the security of navigation and life in our exclusive economic zone,” he said on Monday.
Erdogan then said, “The Russian-Ukrainian conflict has reached a stage that threatens the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.:
Furthermore, Erdogan said Türkiye was issuing necessary warnings to related parties.
Türkiye controls the Bosphorus Strait, the main route to the Black Sea that is often used to transport Ukrainian grain and Russian oil to the Mediterranean.
