“I kept whispering, how much do you want to ask for the donation? He said it was half a billion, what are you doing for half a million, I don’t want to sing. Come on, ladies, I challenged him, he said IDR 1 billion,” said Megawati.
Megawati also asked for the donation figure to increase to 100 percent. He refused if the donation figure did not reach IDR 2 billion.
“I’m challenging it. I want to sing if the increase is 100 percent. Who, raise your hand. So if it’s 100 percent, that’s IDR 2 billion, come on, whoever wants it, if you can’t reach that, stop,” said Megawati.
“Earlier the governor called, the governor contributed IDR 1 billion,” said Rano.
Pramono himself was not present at the event and was only represented by his wife, Endang Nugrahani. However, Megawati still refused the Rp. 1 billion figure offered by Pramono through Rano.He asked the Governor of DKI to contribute IDR 2 billion.
“Oh, if that’s the case, IDR 1 billion. If that’s how I say it, the General Chair ordered the Governor of DKI to contribute IDR 2 billion. Let’s sing,” said Megawati.
“So don’t be discouraged from being a woman. Moreover, if I dance, I’ll improve again, I’m good at dancing,” she added.
Until the end of the donation, the money collected for the Sumatra floods reached IDR 3.2 billion.Megawati also warned that the money collected would not decrease when it was distributed.
“Be careful, if you donate ten but only five come in, I’ll fire you later! Everything must be coordinated immediately so that aid in the form of food, medicine and clothing quickly reaches the people of Sumatra who are in trouble,” he said.
For more than two weeks, the government and volunteers from a number of community groups and individuals are still handling the Sumatran disaster.
