“Janice, who is still 23 years old, is currently ranked 53rd in the WTA and has big dreams of continuing to achieve achievements in tennis,” said Erick.
Erick also ensured that the Ministry of Youth and Sports would always support athletes who have great potential, like Janice, to be able to appear at the Olympics.
“We at the Ministry of Youth and Sports ensure that we will support athletes who have great potential like Janice to be able to perform at the Olympic level so that sport can become a reflection of the superiority of the Indonesian people in the world,” added Erick.

Indonesian women’s singles tennis player Janice Tjen made a proud achievement by winning two titles at the 2025 Chennai Open on November 2 2025.
First, Janice Tjen managed to emerge as champion of the 2025 Chennai Open in the women’s singles event which took place at the SDAT Tennis Stadium, Chennai, India, on Sunday (2/11) evening WIB.
Janice secured the title after beating Australian Kimberly Birrell in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
Apart from the women’s singles sector, Janice Tjen succeeded in winning the champion title in the women’s doubles event at the Chennai Open 2025. This time she was paired with a colleague from Indonesia, namely Aldila Sutjiadi.
This certainty was achieved after Aldila/Janice defeated the Australian-Romanian pair, Storm Hunter/Monica Niculescu, in two straight games 7-5, 6-4 in the final match of the 2025 Chennai Open which took place in Chennai, India, November 2.
