According to Erick, this dualism problem must be resolved immediately so that the national sports agenda can be implemented. If not, athletes will continue to be disadvantaged.
“This dualism problem must be resolved immediately,” said Erick in an official statement from the Ministry of Youth and Sports received by hitclubapk3 Indonesia on Tuesday (4/11) afternoon.
“After that, we can consolidate the Grand Design of National Sports. Next we can talk about what the PON, SEA Games, Asian Games and Olympics will be like,” added Erick.
So that the dualism of these four sports can be quickly resolved, the Ministry of Youth and Sports urges KOI and KONI to intervene. The strategic role of these two organizational bodies will be the key to resolving the conflict.
“We at the Ministry of Youth and Sports have carried out introspection by improving internal governance, so we want KOI, KONI and sports federation administrators to also be able to introspect,” said Erick.
“Sit together to solve problems by deliberation to reach consensus. Because deliberation is the basis for building a nation and state,” added Erick.
Previously, Erick had sent an ultimatum letter to the four conflicting sports.Erick gave the four of them three months to complete the dualism.
This also means that KOI, KONI and sports administrators have two months remaining. If it is not completed by the end of December 2025, the Ministry of Youth and Sports will take firm steps.
“If it is not completed by the end of the year, we at the Ministry of Youth and Sports will take over and make a decision to save our athletes, save our sporting achievements,” said Erick.
“For too long, athletes have been victims. So I remind the parties to let go of their personal interests and egos,” added Erick.
