Metro Jaya Police Chief
Inspector General of Police Asep Edi Suheri led the Community Potential Alert Call to Guard Jakarta which was held at the Precision Field of the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday (19/11).
This rally is a momentum for major consolidation between Polda Metro Jaya and various elements of community organizations (ormas), volunteers and communities who play an active role in maintaining the stability of security and order in the capital region.
Asep said that this rally was held to ensure that all forces of society and the National Police were in one solid line in maintaining the conduciveness of Jakarta.

“The presence of more than 5,000 members of mass organizations this morning shows our shared commitment that Jakarta’s security is our shared responsibility,” he said.
Asep emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between the National Police and community potential (Potmas).
According to him, this synergy is necessary because the role of the community is an inseparable part of efforts to maintain security and social order.Various mass organizations have been active in helping to secure community activities, mediating in problems, and providing assistance when security disturbances occur.
“The good relations that have been established must continue to be maintained and strengthened. Polda Metro Jaya needs the participation of all elements of society so that Jakarta remains safe, peaceful and orderly,” said Asep.
This alert call also focuses on preparedness to face potential disasters that could occur at any time, especially during the rainy season.
Asep mentioned that there were floods, landslides and other emergency situations that had recently begun to emerge and needed quick anticipation.
Community potential is considered to be a strategic force in the initial response to disasters, especially in evacuating residents, social assistance, and securing the situation in affected locations.
“I appreciate my colleagues who have been working selflessly to help residents during disasters. This is extraordinary service and means a lot to the community,” he said.
Apart from disasters, this rally is also focused on finalizing personnel readiness to welcome the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) celebrations.The volume of public activity is predicted to increase significantly, both in shopping centers, places of worship, terminals, stations and tourist locations.
Polda Metro Jaya invites all mass organizations and potential communities to be actively involved in maintaining tolerance, harmony and security during the series of Nataru activities.This collaboration is expected to provide a sense of security for all Jabodetabek residents.
Apart from that, Asep called on all elements present to continue to be active partners in protecting Jakarta.
“Continue to be a driver of goodness, a guardian of harmony and a protector of the environment. Let’s keep Jakarta as a big home that is safe, peaceful and full of love for all of us,” he said.
