Middle School Teacher Abused by Trenggalek DPRD Member’s Husband After Confiscating Student’s Cell Phone

after confiscating a cell phone belonging to one of his students during class time.
The perpetrator is A (27), who is said to be the husband of a member of the Trenggalek Regency DPRD.Currently he has been named a suspect and detained.This incident started last Friday (31/10), when Eko was teaching and asked the students to do the assignment he gave.
At that time, students were allowed to use cellphones, but provided that the cellphones were used to search for assignment materials and related lessons.

But in the middle of the lesson, Eko found a female student, who was none other than A’s younger sister, using her cell phone outside of the learning requirements.
Eko then reprimanded and confiscated the student’s cell phone because it was used not in accordance with the provisions of the learning activity.He then handed over the cell phone to student affairs.
Because she didn’t accept it and thought that her cellphone had been damaged by her teacher, the student then complained to her older brother, A. The perpetrator, who became furious, then came to Eko’s house and assaulted him.Due to this incident, Eko suffered injuries to his face due to two blows.He then reported it to the Trenggalek Police.
“In what happened, the perpetrator came and immediately committed violence against the victim. The victim did not have time to clarify or explain. The motive was a report from his brother regarding the confiscation of his cellphone,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Trenggalek Police, AKP Eko Widiantoro, Tuesday (4/11).
After receiving the report, the police immediately carried out the investigation and investigation stages, by examining a number of witnesses and collecting evidence.
“From the results of the investigation we carried out, we found two pieces of evidence sufficient to suspect that A was the perpetrator. We have examined 4 witnesses,” he said.
A has also been named a suspect and detained at the Trenggalek Police Headquarters as of Monday (3/11) evening.
“We started making detentions last night. We carried out the identification of the suspect yesterday afternoon,” he said.
He also confirmed that A was the husband of a member of the Trenggalek Regency DPRD.However, Eko did not mention the names of the legislative members in question.
“That’s right [the husband of a member of the Trenggalek Regency DPRD],” he said.
For his actions, A was charged under Article 351 of the Criminal Code concerning abuse with the threat of a sentence of 2 years and 8 months in prison.
“Furthermore, based on subjective and objective reasons, we have detained the person concerned on suspicion of abuse under Article 351 of the Criminal Code,” he concluded.
