He conveyed the decision to remove him during a surprise inspection at the Sukamandi Rice Plantation Center for Agricultural Assembly and Modernization (BRMP), Subang Regency, West Java.
“We have 300 hectares of land, but we rent it out to people. This is not true,” said Minister of Agriculture Amran in Subang, Wednesday (12/11).

“We have the technology, we have the tools, we have the human resources, we have the land, but instead we rent it out to people. This is not right. Today we also removed the director and the third echelon. I immediately handed over the decree to the field,” said Amran.
Amran said this action was taken as a statement that state land should not be used for personal interests.
He reminded that state-owned experimental land must be fully utilized for development purposes and the production of superior seeds for the community.
“I found that one hectare is being managed, while 299 hectares are being rented out. Starting today, the land must be worked on again. We are giving three months to prove the results,” said Amran.
Amran asked all BRMPs to use state land to plant the best seeds and plants.He wants BRMP seedlings to be distributed free of charge to the community.
On that occasion, Amran expressed his appreciation to the ranks of the Ministry of Agriculture and all parties who have contributed to the agricultural sector.
“We are grateful that the self-sufficiency plan which should have taken four years was achieved in just one year,” said Amran.
