Abdul Mu’ti said that in the initial stages the government would build new schools, so that students could immediately get access to education.
“We will try, at least in the initial stages, to set up emergency schools first, so that children can learn,” he said.
Apart from that, Abdul Mu’ti said that the Ministry of Basic Education would rebuild the affected schools. However, he did not explain in detail the revitalization process.
Abdul Mu’ti hopes that rebuilding badly damaged schools will be a priority in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) in 2026.
“We are prioritizing schools that are badly damaged next year to get funds from the revitalization program in 2026. Revitalization in 2026 is slightly lower than this year, this year it was IDR 16.9 trillion,” he said.
