Sjafrie said this control was a manifestation of the state’s seriousness and presence in cracking down on all illegal activities through the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH Task Force)
“The facts on the ground are that we see closely the activities of the PKH Task Force in the context of controlling forest areas, especially in mining which does not comply with the provisions that have been set. This is the presence of the state to control all illegal activities,” said Sjafrie.
Sjafrie said the government would also continue to encourage production by legal nickel mines. The Minister of Defense ensured that the government and law enforcement officials would not be indiscriminate in taking firm steps against illegal perpetrators.
“What is illegal is that the state will enforce the applicable provisions. We don’t look at the background, we don’t look at where it comes from, but we see that we have to uphold national interests, we have to save them,” said Sjafrie.
