Minister of Manpower (Manaker) Yassierli
said governors throughout Indonesia must determine the size of the 2026 wage increase by Wednesday 24 December.
“Specifically for 2026, the Governor will determine the amount of the wage increase no later than December 24 2025,” said Yassierli in a written statement, Tuesday (16/12) evening.

Yassierli said the calculation of the minimum wage increase would be carried out by the Regional Wage Council, then submitted as a recommendation to the governor.
The PKS politician explained that the PP on Wages for 2026 wage provisions which Prabowo signed today regulates a number of things.
First, the Governor is obliged to determine the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and can determine the Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK).
Second, the Governor is obliged to determine the Provincial Sectoral Minimum Wage (UMSP) and can also determine the Regency/City Sectoral Minimum Wage (UMSK).
President Prabowo Subianto has signed the Government Regulation (PP) on Wages for 2026 today, Tuesday (16/12).
Yassierli said that the drafting of the PP on Wages had gone through quite a long study and discussion.He revealed that Prabowo had set a new formula for determining wages in 2026.
“After paying attention to input and aspirations from various parties, especially from Workers’ Unions, the President finally decided on a wage increase formula of Inflation + (Economic Growth x Alpha) with an Alpha range of 0.5-0.9,” he said.
“Of course, the President’s policy is a form of commitment to implementing the Constitutional Court’s decision Number 168/2023,” added the PKS politician.
In 2025, the UMP calculation formula is stipulated in the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 16 of 2024 concerning Determination of the 2025 Minimum Wage.
In Article 2 paragraph (2) Permenaker 16/2024, it is stipulated that UMP 2025 = UMP 2024 + UMP Increase Value.
The 2025 UMP increase value set is 6.5 percent.
