said Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia should start learning about Islam from Indonesia.
Nasaruddin said this while attending the International Conference of Indonesian Islam, at Sunan Ampel State Islamic University (Uinsa) Surabaya, Wednesday (26/11).
Nasaruddin said that in the past many Indonesians studied Islam in the Middle East.Even many Arabic literatures are translated into Indonesian as a learning medium.

“In the past, we studied whether Indonesians studied in Egypt, the Middle East. Arabic books were translated into Indonesian,” he said.
However, along with the development of Islamic scholarship in Indonesia, Nasaruddin said it was time for Indonesia to become a center for Islamic scientific studies for Middle Eastern countries.
“Now it must be reversed. In fact, Indonesian language books about Islam must be translated into Arabic,” he said.
Nasaruddin said, there are various fields of Islamic science that have developed in Indonesia.Examples include modern economics, democracy and politics that are sustainable with Islamic teachings.
“Middle Eastern people, Arab people must study Islam in Indonesia. Whether it is Islamic economics, whether it is democracy, whether it is politics, what is modern economics and so on, they ask to go to Indonesia,” he said.
In fact, said Nasaruddin, Middle Eastern countries already consider Indonesia to be
rising star
development of the epicenter of modern Islam in the world.
“So they think that Indonesia is truly the rising star for the development of the epicenter of modern Islam,” he said.
Furthermore, Nasaruddin explained that the International Conference of Indonesian Islam could be a forum for introducing Indonesian Islam to the world.
“We will expose that Islam in Indonesia is as described in this seminar. Because the Islamic world is currently very popular,” said Nasaruddin.
The concept of developing Indonesian Islam will later be presented in a series of international conferences.Which in the near future will be held at UIN Jakarta.
“Well, tomorrow’s seminar will be at UIN Jakarta. This will be the coverage. So, this will provide a kind of frame, what kind of frame, so that the editing will be good. So, we will expose this to the outside world, including the Middle East,” he said.
