Minister of Trade Budi Santoso asked regional governments to ensure guidance to

He said the regional role was needed to maintain the program’s supply chain smoothly.
“For this reason, we advise you (regional leaders) to provide guidance to breeders and our farmers so that their production continues to increase and is of high quality,” said Budi at the Consumer Protection Award Awarding Ceremony at the Ministry of Trade, Central Jakarta, Thursday (27/11).

Budi explained that the implementation of the MBG program continues to develop and the number of beneficiaries is increasing.According to him, apart from providing nutritious food for children, this program has a significant economic effect.
“Besides the main aim of the MBG program is to provide free nutritious food to our children, on the other hand it can improve our economic ecosystem. Everything is turning, everything is moving,” he said.
He assessed that increasing demand for rice, meat and eggs would stimulate the people’s economy, especially in the regions.
In the event attended by regional leaders, Budi also reminded that the period at the end of November marks preparations for Christmas and New Year (Nataru), when community needs usually increase.
The central and regional governments, he said, continue to coordinate with suppliers and distributors to ensure that the supply of bapok remains safe.
“We must be able to guarantee that the supply price for distribution of basic necessities is smooth. So ladies and gentlemen, we all have to have a commitment to maintain that,” said Budi.
