Indonesia in 2026. The proposed proposal targets five domestic oil and gas blocks.
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung said the proposal submitted by Shell was in the final stages, awaiting approval from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia.
“So, for the approval process from the Minister, there will be an evaluation first at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas and also consultation with SKK Migas,” said Yuliot when met at the Sheraton Gandaria Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (25/11).

According to Yuliot, there are five oil and gas working areas that are of interest to Shell Plc.The details are 2 offshore (
offshore
) and 3 on land (
onshore
), but he has not detailed the name of the block being targeted.
“That (proposal) is for 5 work areas, it will be finalized later,” he explained.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Increasing Oil and Gas Production/Lifting, Nanang Abdul Manaf, said that there were 39 oil and gas companies interested in partnering with Pertamina to manage old oil wells in the country.
“There are 39 companies interested in becoming Pertamina’s idle well partners to carry out the idle well reactivation program,” explained Nanang.
The seriousness of the companies has also been followed up through the signing of the agreement.There are around 19 companies that have expressed their seriousness.
“A total of 19 companies have signed the MoU,” concluded Nanang.
