Mount Semeru

Head of Public Relations for the Lumajang Police, Ipda Untoro, said that a number of residents in Supiturang Village, Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency, have now evacuated themselves to the local village hall.
“For the time being, the eruption of Mount Semeru’s hot clouds are still safe from residential areas. But meanwhile residents from Room A are gathering at the Supiturang Village Hall (Pronojiwo District),” said Untoro, Wednesday (19/11).

Head of the East Java BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, Satriyo Nurseno, said that several residents had also started to flee towards Oro-Oro Ombo and Sumberiurip, Pronojiwo District.
“Meanwhile, residents are starting to flee towards Oro-oro Ombo and Sumberurip,” said Satriyo.

Satriyo said the hot cloud glide was still ongoing, with a maximum amplitude of 40 mm with a glide distance of more than 14 kilometers.Meanwhile, visually the weather conditions around Semeru were observed to be cloudy and dark.Currently, access to the Gladak Perak Bridge is closed.
Meanwhile, the impact and victims of this incident are not yet known.
