said the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, is now focusing his staff on overcoming the impact of flash floods and landslides that occurred in a number of areas in the three provinces of Sumatra, namely North Sumatra (North Sumatra), West Sumatra (Sumbar), and Aceh at the end of last November.
According to him, Prabowo is mobilizing all government instruments to restore the condition of the three provinces in Tanah Andalas.

“He (the President) these days is mobilizing everything he can to restore conditions in the three provinces,” said Muzani after a meeting with Prabowo at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/12) as quoted from his statement.
According to Muzani, after directly visiting the disaster locations earlier this week, Prabowo felt the heavy burden experienced by the affected residents, ranging from losing their homes to family members.
“He saw firsthand the losses suffered as a result of the disaster. He also saw firsthand the refugees and people who were affected by the disaster. He felt the heavy burden felt by the community, including how his loved ones and loved ones were lost, whose bodies and remains have not yet been found,” said the Gerindra Party politician .
On that basis, Muzani said Prabowo had instructed all relevant ministries/institutions, regional governments, and strategic BUMNs to speed up post-disaster handling.According to him, improving roads and communication routes is the government’s priority.
“He continues to coordinate with many relevant ministers, both regarding aid and infrastructure improvements. Even the Managing Director of PLN, the Managing Director of Pertamina, have been mobilized to restore the condition of electricity and the fuel supply there to normal,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) recorded that the death toll from floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra had increased to 712 people as of Tuesday afternoon.
Based on BNPB data displayed on their official website, the number of missing victims is 507 people in the three affected provinces.
In detail, the number of victims who died in Aceh was 218 people and 227 people missing.Then in North Sumatra, 301 people died and 163 people disappeared.Then in West Sumatra, 193 people died and 117 people disappeared.
Meanwhile, the number of injured victims in this disaster reached 2,564 people in the three provinces.The number of residents affected by major floods in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra has reached 3.3 million.
Flash floods and landslides hit around 50 districts/cities in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra at the end of last November.Thousands of residents’ houses were badly damaged by the floods and landslides that occurred last week.
The Center of Economic and Law Studies (Celios) estimates that losses due to floods and landslides reached IDR 68.67 trillion.
