, Gary Neville, believes that Chelsea is not ready to compete for the Premier League title this season.
He conveyed this assessment after the Blues appeared inconsistent in two consecutive matches.Chelsea managed to hold the current Premier League leaders, Arsenal, to a draw with a score of 1-1 on Sunday (30/11), but then lost 1-3 to Leeds United, who are struggling to get out of the relegation zone, Wednesday (3/12) local time.
The team coached by Enzo Maresca actually showed a better performance against Arsenal.However, just three days later, Chelsea’s performance dropped drastically against Leeds.

“I don’t think they will be able to win the title,” said former Manchester United defender Gary Neville as quoted from

“In fact, I don’t think they have a chance. Chelsea does have some gaping holes when looking at the teams that won the title,” added Neville.
Against Leeds, Chelsea’s back line looked fragile.Benoît Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo had difficulty reducing Leeds’ attacks.
Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez also appeared below his best, while striker Liam Delap was also unable to make a big contribution.
“Chelsea are well built, they have a lot of talent, but the centre-backs tonight [Wednesday (3/11) were bad in every way,” said Neville.
This condition was made worse by consistency problems in the goalkeeping and attack lines.Neville believes that the individual quality in these two positions is still far from the standard of a winning team.
“The goalkeepers are not good enough to be title-winning goalkeepers, and then in the centre-forward positions, they are good players, but they are not at the level needed to win titles for Chelsea,” said Neville.
