remains in its stance to accept aid coming from abroad without making it difficult for people to enter Tanah Rencong.
“In principle, we are humanitarians. We will accept anyone who helps us. Anyone, anywhere,” said Mualem after receiving assistance from the multinational company Upland Resources at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Aceh Besar, Monday (15/12).

Mualem conveyed this after receiving assistance from the company Upland Resources which operates in the United Kingdom (UK), Malaysia and Indonesia. The aid distributed was in the form of basic materials for the refugees.
Muelam said the aid was immediately distributed to the people of Aceh who were affected by flash floods and landslides.
Mualem emphasized that in disaster conditions, the humanitarian spirit must be the main basis regardless of the background of the party providing assistance.

and the worst are several areas, such as Aceh Tamiang, East Aceh, North Aceh and Bireuen.”Also to Takengon and Beutong, as well as Langsa,” said Mualem.
Meanwhile, Chairman & CEO of Upland Resources, Datuk Bolhassan Di, explained that the assistance was the result of the company’s internal fundraising in the three countries where Upland operates.
“Thank God, our PT Upland in the UK, Indonesia and Malaysia can collect aid for Aceh,” he said.
It is known that currently the Indonesian government has not given wide permission for international assistance for the Sumatra disaster. However, there are already volunteers and logistics coming from foreign countries such as Malaysia and China.
Last week, Mualem admitted that he would not make it difficult for international assistance to help with post-disaster management in his region. Not only that, the Aceh Provincial Government has even sent official letters to two institutions under the United Nations (UN) – UNDP and UNICEF – to assist with post-disaster management at the Veranda of Mecca.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with all levels of his cabinet at the State Palace, Jakarta, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia was capable of handling post-hydrometeorological disaster management in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
At first he said that many leaders of other countries wanted to send aid to Indonesia to deal with the flash flood and landslide disasters on the island of Sumatra.
“I was called by many heads of state wanting to send aid. I said thank you for your concern, we are capable, Indonesia is able to overcome this,” said Prabowo at a plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, last Monday.
Prabowo stated that the APBN was ready to support disaster management funds. He said the APBN was sufficient to handle this because the government was implementing budget efficiency.
One of the APBN supports is additional tactical funding to local governments for disaster management.Namely IDR 20 billion for each affected province, while IDR 4 billion for each affected city or district.
Previously, Mualem officially extended the Emergency Response Status for Hydrometeorological Floods and Landslides in Aceh for 14 days – from 12 to 25 December 2025.
Mualem said the decision was taken because disaster management still requires intensive, integrated and coordinated efforts, starting from evacuation, logistics distribution, to repairing roads, bridges and public service facilities.
“We have surveyed the field. We need an extension of 2 more weeks for rehabilitation and infrastructure, so we need to extend it,” said Mualem when announcing the extension of the status.
