National Police Chief
General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) fun walk and Kick Off to National Press Day (HPN) 2026.
This activity took place at Serang City Square, Banten, Sunday (30/11).
On this occasion, Sigit emphasized the importance of synergy and collaboration between the National Police and members of the press.Among them is fighting together against the spread of false information or hoaxes that are detrimental to the wider community.

“Collaboration and synergy of the press with

related to maintaining independence.”We are facing an era where using technology, people can become creators of news whose contents need to be verified,” said Sigit.
Sigit confirmed that the presence of the press in public spaces is very important to be able to provide reliable information.
“We are entering an era

the content is not necessarily true but is considered the truth.”The press can provide input so that the public gets correct information,” said Sigit.
More deeply, Sigit emphasized that the National Police continues to be committed to providing security to all media crew who carry out their duties.So that all journalists can feel safe when reporting news.
On the other hand, Sigit did not forget to express his deep condolences for the natural disasters that occurred in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra.
“The National Police, TNI and government continue to send aid including clothing and communication equipment. Including we are alerting personnel and equipment for disaster evacuation, securing distribution routes. We have received information that several personnel have been able to come in to provide logistical assistance,” explained Sigit.
