The blue statue depicting M Jasin riding a horse while saluting was inaugurated directly by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.The ceremony was also attended by the extended family of M Jasin, namely his daughter, Rubiyanti.
The ceremony began at 08.00 WIB and took place solemnly.General Listyo Sigit acted as the ceremonial inspector.On that occasion, he recited the manuscript of the Polri Proclamation which became a milestone in the establishment of the Indonesian National Police.
“To unite with the people in the struggle to defend the proclamation of August 17, 1945, hereby declare the police as the police of the Republic of Indonesia. Surabaya, August 21, 1945. On behalf of all police residents. Moehammad Jasin, Class I Police Inspector,” said Sigit.
Princess M Jasin, Rubiyanti, admitted that she was moved and proud because the struggle of her father was still remembered by the National Police institution to this day.
“I am very proud, also touched. This shows the struggle of my father, the struggle of the Special Police, the struggle of the Republic of Indonesia Police. I thank you very much. So, every year it is done, from 2024 yes, there is a fighting day, this year also 2025,” said Rubiyanti.
Rubiyanti said, the statue was very representative of his father who was well -built, handsome, friendly and smiling.

Furthermore, he recalled M Jasin as a firm and disciplined figure in educating his children.He also stressed, integrity is a value that his father always guarded during his life.
“He wants this police to be a professional police officer, yes. Good police, police who are against the community, yes and who care, straight. He wants that, honestly especially. Because my father is very honest,” he explained.
Commissioner General of Police (Ret.) Dr.H. Moehammad Jasin is a warrior police figure whose name is strong in the history of the Indonesian people.With his strict leadership, extraordinary courage, and his dedication to the homeland, M. Jasin is remembered as an example for the next generation, both in the police and the wider community.
Not only active in the police world, M. Jasin also plunged directly in the struggle against the invaders.He played an important role in historical events such as Surabaya battle, the eradication of the PKI rebellion in Madiun, to maintain the country’s sovereignty from various separatist threats.
Jasin’s early career was colored by his involvement in Gresik and Surabaya as instructors at the police school.He trained the special police and Seinendan was not only in police discipline, but also military tactics.From here his role in the struggle for independence is increasingly prominent.
An important moment occurs after the proclamation of Indonesian independence.On August 21, 1945, Jasin proclaimed a special police to become an Indonesian police.This action confirmed that the police were free from Japanese ties and stood as an independent state tool.The move became a milestone in the journey of the Indonesian National Police.
Surabaya became one of the fierce battle centers after the proclamation.Jasin played a direct role in the struggle for weapons from Japan in Don Bosco’s warehouse and Kempeitai headquarters.With great courage, he led the negotiations to succeed in getting weapons for Indonesian fighters.
When the battle of November 10, 1945 erupted, Jasin announced that the Special Police forces had been militarized and fought against the Allies.The troops he led participated in various battlefall front.After Surabaya fell, Jasin moved the headquarters to Sidoarjo and even guerrilla around Mount Wilis when the Dutch military aggression took place.
Founder of Car Brigade (Brimob)
The name M. Jasin cannot be separated from the history of the car brigade (Brimob).In November 1946, through the Djawatan Conference of the State Police in Purwokerto, he was appointed as Commander of the Mobiele Big Brigade (MBB) of East Java.This unit then developed into the Brimob forces that we know today, functioned as police forces as well as combat forces in defending the country.
Under his command, Mobrig was involved in various major operations, including crushing the PKI rebellion in Madiun in 1948. After Madiun was successfully seized, Jasin led the cleaning operation in South Blitar.He also played a role in dealing with the APRA, Darul Islam, to PRRI rebellion in Sumatra.
