He said that currently a trend of increasing narcotics circulation is starting to be seen.He explained that there were a number of factors that were the main cause, namely because there was an increase in crowds and entertainment.
“The end of the year is synonymous with celebrations, parties and increased activity in nightlife venues which are potential markets for the distribution of recreational drugs, such as ecstasy and crystal methamphetamine,” he said.
The second factor, he said, is that during the Christmas holidays demand for drugs from users increases because of the long holiday which allows them to consume drugs without being disturbed by their daily routine.
Furthermore, Eko said that the momentum of the Nataru holiday was also used by drug dealers and dealers to make a profit.
“Networks of dealers and bookies are trying to take advantage of this momentum to reap huge profits before and during the festive period,” he said.
Therefore, he explained that action and checking measures were being taken at drug-prone points such as border areas or rat routes to prevent the entry of imported drugs from transnational networks.
Apart from that, Eko said that his party would also carry out raids and operations in drug villages or areas identified as distribution hotbeds.
