North Atlantic Treaty Organization (

) held a meeting with member countries in Brussels on Wednesday (3/12), discussing the war
Russia
and
Ukraine
which never ends.
In a meeting attended by foreign ministers of NATO member countries, there was no representative from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for the first time in 22 years.

The US was only represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Christopher Landau at the NATO meeting.
This NATO meeting was held after negotiations between President Donald Trump’s special envoy and representatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss peace plans in Ukraine broke down again.
Even without the presence of the US at this NATO meeting, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Washington remained “very involved” in the process.
Rutte then touched on Trump’s crucial role in ending the stalemate in the midst of a war that has the potential to spread to Europe.
“There is only one person in the whole world who is capable of breaking the deadlock, and that is the American President (Donald Trump),” Rutte told reporters, quoted from

.
Meanwhile, Trump remains optimistic even though negotiations between his special envoy and Putin’s representatives to offer a peace plan and end the war in Ukraine have stalled again.
He said at a news conference that special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, had done well with Putin on Tuesday.
“What were the results of the meeting? I can’t tell you because this involves two parties,” said Trump.
“The impression is that they want… he (Putin) wants the war to end. I think he wants to get back to a normal life. He wants to get back to trading with the United States, frankly, rather than losing thousands of soldiers every week. But their impression is very strong that he will make a deal,” Trump added.
