announced that the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will begin soon.
“We hope to soon enter the second phase, which is more difficult,” said Netanyahu, quoted by AFP.

In the second phase of this ceasefire, Israeli military forces must be withdrawn to positions behind the “Yellow Line” in the Gaza area.The Israeli Army Commander, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, said the demarcation line was a “new border line”.
Apart from withdrawing troops, the second phase of the ceasefire also included the disarmament of Hamas and the deployment of the International Stabilization Force.
“We have a second phase, which is no less challenging, namely achieving the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza,” added Netanyahu.
The ceasefire mediated by the United States began on October 10.However, in practice, the Israeli military is still carrying out attacks in Gaza and violating the ceasefire agreement.
Additionally so far, all Israeli hostages have been released, except for the body of an Israeli policeman.
Previously, Qatar and Egypt as mediator countries had also called for further steps, including the withdrawal of Israeli troops in Gaza.
Hamas on Saturday (6/12) yesterday stated that it was ready to hand over its weapons in Gaza to the relevant authorities, provided that the Israeli army’s occupation ends.
