New York Muslim Mayor Mamdani’s words after being labeled anti-Jewish

, responding to accusations that he is an anti-semite or anti-Jewish following his campaign rhetoric regarding Israel and the genocide in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
Mamdani emphasized that he views the issue of anti-semitism in New York, the city with the largest Jewish community in the US, very seriously.

“I view the issue of anti-semitism very seriously,” said Mamdani on the day of his victory in the election for Mayor of New York on (5/11).
Mamdani made sure that as long as he leads New York, the city must be a home for everyone, including Jews.
“I affirm that City Hall under my leadership will stand firm with New York’s Jewish citizens in fighting the epidemic of antisemitism throughout the city,” Mamdani was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) organization immediately criticized Mamdani’s victory in the mayoral election.ADL President Jonathan Greenblatt even warned Mamdani that they “will face the next four years with steely resolve.”
In response, Mamdani didn’t bother with ADL’s criticism saying “anyone is free to judge the actions of our government.”
“I just doubt Jonathan’s ability to do it honestly, considering that he previously said that I had never visited any synagogue, and then had to correct himself,” Mamdani continued.

showed that Mamdani received 50.5 percent of the votes out of 85 percent of the votes cast.
Mamdani defeated independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa.Mamdani will replace the incumbent mayor, Eric Adams, who withdrew from the contest last September.
Zohran Kwame Mamdani is a 34 year old democratic socialist.He became the youngest mayor of New York City in more than a century and the first Muslim to lead the US’s largest business center.
Mamdani was born on 18 October 1991 in Kampala, Uganda.He is the son of Ugandan academic Mahmood Mamdani and Indian film producer Mira Nair.
Since being favored as a candidate for mayor, President Donald Trump has repeatedly attacked Mamdani.Trump even urged Jews in New York to vote for Cuomo.
According to Trump, the Jews who voted for Mamdani were “fools.”President Trump even said that Mamdani’s victory turned New York into a socialist communist.
