Based on the assessments of several critics, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t presents a story that is less than impressive and even very easy to forget after watching, as stated by Zaki Hasan from the San Francisco Chronicle.
“It needs to be stressed, all of this is just light entertainment that is easily forgotten, but watching it is still fun. Even one last trick, which is mandatory in films, is presented elegantly and satisfyingly,” said Zaki Hasan from the San Francisco Chronicle.
Likewise with the assessment of Sonia Rao from the Washington Post who felt that the character arc that should have been so important was easily forgotten.
“Their character arcs also fade from memory as soon as the credits roll, a very unfortunate part that just disappears,” criticized Sonia Rao.

The film was deemed not to have reached its maximum potential, as the script and dialogue felt flat so that the story was unable to provide interest or entertain the audience through the magic acts of The Four Horsemen.
Rosamund Pike, who has just joined the third film, is considered by several critics to have succeeded in stealing the spotlight and even saving Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.
“In the end, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t isn’t as enjoyable as it might be, especially when [Rosamund] Pike isn’t on screen,” wrote Moira MacDonald of the Seattle Times.
“Even though the character states that we all ‘need miracles more than ever,’ the film apparently doesn’t have enough miracles.”
“Jesse Eisenberg and his crew of magicians plan a diamond heist, but Rosamund Pike steals the film’s zircons instead,” writes Peter Travers of The Travers Take.”My rating for this film would have jumped if Pike had more scenes.”
Even though it received criticism from critics, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is still liked by the audience by getting a score of 80 percent on Popcornmeter based on more than 1,000 verified ratings given.
However, overall, the third film’s Tomatometer score is much higher than its two predecessor films. Now You See Me (2013) received a score of 51 percent from 173 critics’ reviews.
Now You See Me 2 even dropped with a score of 34 percent from 197 critic reviews given.
