hope that the internal conflict within PBNU can be resolved amicably.
“We pray, may Allah protect us all. And we pray, hopefully the storm will pass. That’s all,” said Nusron briefly, after attending the National Conference of the Indonesian Cadastral Survey Expert Society (Maski) in Sanur, Denpasar City, Bali, Tuesday (25/11) evening.

Nusron who is currently Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR)/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN), is one of the NU figures.
He has served as Deputy General Chair of PBNU for the period 2022-2024.
The internal conflict within PBNU started with pressure for PBNU Chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya, to relinquish his position.
This request was the result of the daily Syuriyah management meeting which was written in the minutes of the meeting.
In the minutes it was written that Gus Yahya had to resign as Chairman of the PBNU within three days of receiving the minutes.If he does not resign within that deadline, Syuriyah will dismiss him.
The minutes were signed by Rais Aam PBNU Miftachul Akhyar, decided at a meeting attended by 37 Syuriyah Daily Administrators at the Aston City Hotel Jakarta, 20 November 2025.
“Deliberations between Rais Aam and two Deputy Rais Aam decided: KH Yahya Cholil Staquf must resign from the position of General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board within 3 (three) days from the receipt of the decision of the PBNU Syuriyah Daily Meeting,” wrote the decision points in the minutes.
“If he does not resign within 3 (three) days, the PBNU Syuriyah Daily Meeting decides to dismiss KH Yahya Cholil Staquf as General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board,” he continued.
The pressure to resign was motivated by a number of things, ranging from polemics inviting pro-Zionism sources to issues of financial governance.
Gus Yahya has emphasized that he will not resign from his position.He will remain in accordance with the mandate given until the solemn term of 2027.
