Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (
FSA
) Mahendra Siregar responded to the Minister of Finance’s plan
Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa
write off bad debts under IDR 1 million belonging to prospective housing credit debtors Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (
FLPP
).
Mahendra said the number of potential debtors who were not approved due to problems in the Financial Information Services System (SLIK) was very small.
“What is not approved is because it is related to SLIK, especially related to debtors who have a balance of less than IDR 1 million and are considered to be in default, the number of those who fall into this category is very small,” he said at the RDK OJK press conference, Friday (7/11).

Therefore, Mahendra believes that SLIK is not the only reference in assessing credit worthiness.
He said that the majority of prospective FLPP credit debtors were rejected due to incompleteness in the credit application process.
Of the 103,261 FLPP credit applications that were not approved, 42.9 percent were due to an incomplete application process.
“Then the majority are for those who do not meet the criteria for FLPP recipients,” said Mahendra.
Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa previously said that his party had asked the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) to collect data on prospective debtors who were prevented from accessing KPR due to the small credit record.
It is hoped that this plan can be a way out for low-income people who have been hampered by obtaining housing financing due to administrative obstacles at SLIK OJK.
