Ardana Cikal Damarwulan admitted that she was surprised to win gold
SEA Games 2025
in the lead category because previously he focused more on the boulder number.
In preparation for the SEA Games, Cikal only underwent two months of preparation since it was decided to move to the lead number.Since moving to the lead number, Cikal’s preparation for the SEA Games only took two months.
With these conditions, Cikal admitted that he did not expect to win a gold medal.The reason is, the results of the training do not represent fairly good results.

“Honestly, I don’t believe it (with this result) because in training I am often the lowest in that category, so I just don’t believe it,” said Cikal as quoted by Antara.
After winning SEA Games gold, Cikal said his big target was the 2027 World Championship. He still hasn’t decided which number he will choose.
“Maybe you can focus on lead or bouldering, maybe both, for the World Championships maybe in 2027,” said Cikal.
After he won SEA Games gold, Cikal also hopes that more young people will take part in the lead and boulder events.In Cikal’s view, the number of athletes for these two categories is still lacking.
“Hopefully more and more people in Indonesia will be interested in the lead and boulder categories because it’s actually really interesting and in Indonesia it’s still a bit lacking,” said Cikal, who has been actively involved in rock climbing since he was eight years old.
Overall, the Indonesian Rock Climbing Team won four gold, three silver and one bronze.This made Indonesia the overall champion of rock climbing.
