has been launched in Indonesia as a new electrified model which is available in two variants, namely PHEV and EV.What does the name Darion mean?
For some, Darion is just a name.But apparently, Wuling inserted a meaning which shows the origin of this car, namely Indonesia.
According to the company, Darion is an abbreviation for the words ‘From Indonesia’.

“Produced at our factory in Cikarang, this vehicle is designed according to the mobility needs of the Indonesian people,” said Wuling Motors Vice President Arif Pramadana at PIK, as reported by detik, Thursday (6/11).

According to him, Darion was created as the company’s ambition to continue to provide vehicles that are not only comfortable, but also modern and sustainable.
“Today we are proud to present the Wuling Darion, a concrete manifestation of Wuling’s commitment to providing comfortable, modern and sustainable family vehicles,” he said.
Darion specifications and prices
In appearance, Darion adheres to a boxy shape, but the front appearance is quite aggressive because it is equipped with a number of sharp corners.On the PHEV version, there is a black spindle-shaped grille, while the EV version is made without that component.
The company has equipped the Darion with an electric sliding door to make it easier to access in and out of the cabin.This car is also equipped with captain seat style chairs with a capacity of 7 people.What’s more interesting is that the Darion is equipped with an electric sunroof.
In terms of dimensions, the Darion is 4,910 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, 1,770 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,910 mm.
Darion PHEV uses a 1,500 cc dedicated hybrid engine with a 150 kW motor drive.The electric motor in this car can cover a distance of up to 125 km (CLTC) and the combination of petrol engine + battery can cover a distance of more than 1,000 km.
The battery can be charged with DC Charging CCS2, where it charges 30-80 percent in 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, the electric variant is powered by a 150 kW motor drive which can cover a distance of up to 540 km (CLTC).This electric car battery can be charged 30-80 percent in 30 minutes.
The EV variant is priced at IDR 356 million, the PHEV model is sold starting from IDR 439 million.This price has OTR Jakarta status, only for the first 1,500 buyers.
