Chairman of the Sibolga Grand Mosque’s Nazirship Body, Ibnu Tasnim Tampubolon, explained that he had never prohibited visitors from sleeping or resting in the mosque.

Ibnu suspects there was a miscommunication regarding accusations that someone wanted to steal the charity box at the mosque.He also explained that 3 out of 5 perpetrators were not mosque administrators or congregation members.
However, Ibnu also expressed oddities because he received many versions regarding the reasons why the perpetrators beat the orphan to death.
Meanwhile, Sibolga Police Chief AKBP Eddy Inganta explained that the abuse occurred because the perpetrator was annoyed that the victim did not listen to the prohibition on sleeping or resting in the mosque.Currently, all the perpetrators have been detained at the Sibolga Police Headquarters Detention Center and charged with murder with a penalty of 12 years in prison.
