Arief said the pipe in the Pasar Rebo area was 103 years old.He said the pipe was built by the Dutch in 1922.
“That’s 20 million liters of storage. It’s the same in Buaran,” said Arief
According to Arief, the reservoir was previously unused when it was not managed by PAM Jaya. However, it is now functioning well after being managed by PAM Jaya.
PAM Jaya is said to require funds of up to IDR 14 trillion to renew pipes and make the water drinkable.Arief said he wanted to hold a limited meeting (ratas) with the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo.
Arief hopes that in the future, if the water quality in Jakarta gets better, the capital city can overcome the problem of stunting and improve public health.
“This is PAM Jaya’s dream, which is definitely the dream of the people of Jakarta that our Governor wants, that if the water is of good quality, God willing, there should be no more stunting, no water-related diseases,” he said.
