Secretary General
PBSI
, Ricky Soebagja, stated that he is aiming for more than one title in
Indonesia Masters 2026
which will take place on January 20-25 2026.
“Until now, PBSI wants to continue to improve the achievements of primary and major athletes. Especially at the 2026 Indonesia Masters, our athletes’ enthusiasm is extraordinary. Hopefully we can get more than one title at Istora later,” said Ricky in a press conference session in Jakarta, Thursday (27/11).
Ricky assessed that the enthusiasm of the host athletes was so burning to excel in front of their own supporters.Men’s doubles is projected to be the backbone of the Red and White representatives to stand on the highest podium.

“We can see the enthusiasm for ourselves. But we also hope that in the Indonesia Masters sector we can maximize it and we can’t let go of the men’s doubles to be able to win the title. Hopefully the enthusiasm of the players can be more than that,” he said.
The confidence of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic gold medalist is based on the quality of Indonesian athletes in badminton.According to him, Red and White athletes are still to be reckoned with on the world stage.
“Indonesia has a special place on the international badminton map because of its strong traditions and love. This makes badminton not only present competition but also the identity of Indonesia itself,” said Ricky.
Ricky considers Indonesia’s achievements in the international arena to be the key to a positive public view of the Red and White representatives. He believes that Indonesia’s position is still strong at world level badminton.
“Success in prestigious tournaments increases outstanding young athletes and strengthens Indonesia as a strong country in badminton,” he said.
Furthermore, Ricky is confident that the host athletes can reap positive results at the Indonesia Masters 2026. The former Indonesian men’s doubles athlete hopes that the supporters’ support will echo at the Gelora Bung Karno Palace.
“Community support and collaboration play a very important role because the Indonesia Masters is the stage at the start of the competition season,” he said.
“We hope that the Indonesian team can achieve maximum results and win the 2026 Indonesia Masters,” he emphasized.
At the Indonesia Masters earlier this year, not a single host representative became champion. The last time two Indonesian representatives won the Super 500 level tournament was in 2023 when Jonatan Christie and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin emerged as champions.
