“Tonight, we celebrate victory and confirm our history. All of this is a collective effort, not only from the players, staff and current management, but also from all parties who have contributed to Philippine football, both past and present,” said John Anthony Gutierrez.
According to Anthony Gutierrez, the Philippines’ struggle at the 2025 SEA Games is not over.After breaking the bad trend, the Philippines is now aiming for another history, namely winning a medal at the 2025 SEA Games.
If it happens, it will be the Philippines’ first medal in men’s soccer.When they first qualified for the semifinals in 1991, the Philippines lost 0-2 to Singapore in the match for the bronze medal.
“However, this journey is far from over. We have to aim for a medal,” said Gutierrez.
By winning Group C, the Philippines now only has to wait to win Group B or A as opponents in the semifinals of the 2025 SEA Games.
