Alfian explained that the market situation when the fire occurred was busy because the building was operating 24 hours a day.
“It’s busy at the moment, because this building is actually for 24-hour activities. So of course, at 07.15 WIB, the activity is extraordinary,” he added.
Alfian admitted that his party had coordinated with the Director of Pasar Raya to extinguish the fire using 150 APARs (light fire extinguishers). However, these efforts have not been able to stop the fire.
“And of course, why did it happen so quickly, because we have connected with the Director of Pasar Raya, who has carried out a temporary blackout using a 150 fire extinguisher, but it still hasn’t been able to stop it,” he said.
Alfian added that when the fire was reported at 07.15 WIB, the fire was completely extinguished at 08.00 WIB.
“However, the point we see together is still not there, this is done using foam so that the fire doesn’t spread anywhere and of course we can completely extinguish it by cooling,” said Alfian.
Alfian said that as many as 350 fruit stalls in the C2 building were reportedly affected by this fire incident.
“Because of the 350, in general, 98 percent can be extinguished. Only the point that is currently behind me has to use foam, which of course contains chemicals which of course we need to study, we will study further. And later the Puslabfor can answer,” he said.
